    I’ve been playing this game for almost a year and a half. While I really like the core gameplay loop, it seems pretty clear that the gameplay favors players who spend money to unlock characters: - Players often have to hoard orbs (training, gold, etc) because summon banners reward players for opening them, meaning it’s much harder to actually level up characters for the meta. The rate you can get these items during the banner is disproportionately low, so many challenges are literally impossible to complete without stockpiling orbs. - Gold feels like it has gotten much more scarce. Gold orbs have a chance to pay out a much higher amount than normal, but that payout seems to be a much smaller amount. - Materials needed to level up characters aren’t as easy to come by. In order to participate in a lot of challenges, players need to have strong characters with a tag (villain, x-factor, etc). Problem is, many times challenges require characters with a gear level. To reach hear levels, players need to use these materials in tandem with training chips and gold. Materials can be acquired from the campaign, but there’s no guaranteed drop rate; I can spend all of my energy for a day and still not have the resources I need for a lower gear level character. All three areas can be addressed in game through paid transactions. In addition, Scopely doesn’t always respond to support cases. I’ve literally been unable to complete challenges to unlock characters because the game has gotten stuck on loading. They might’ve changed how their support system works around this time, since it used to be handled in app. Still, it feels crummy when you follow up using the new method, and the support team can’t find any proof of the case you tried to open. I want to like this game a lot more than I do, but it feels like the game doesn’t respect my time, and only cares when I’ve got a buck to spend.

    They’ll pull the orbs you need for an event even before event is over. The Nova launch was a debacle. You get rewards for one event but not the other. Play something else.

    This game is the biggest slap in the face to fans I’ve ever seen. Nobody can afford this game. You will not get far at all without spending money and the prices for a MOBILE game is outrageous. It would literally cost a million to get one team leveled all the way and you can’t FTP your way to a full team it’s not possible. Marvel do better. The world is struggling enough as it is and this should be a distraction not a punishment to fans or a scam to rob them of money when times are already hard enough.

    Update: the game was bought by a Saudi company linked to their Prince. So all the problems I had with the game are now amplified and are sending the profits to a murderous monarch. Here’s the thing. The gameplay for this used to be fantastic. It was an enjoyable experience with an understanding that some payment got you an edge on the competition by building rosters faster. Then Scopely purchased the developers FoxNext and turned it into a blatant cash grab. Gone are the days of decent or even great deals. Instead are more and more bottlenecks to progress, ramped up scaling metrics that are mostly random so you buy their legal gambling scheme, higher prices for everything, game modes that are not there for gameplay, but merely to force you to play longer, and a complete breakdown in communication and timelines that has led to numerous people leaving the game. I write this as a fan of what was and what could be, but Scopely is intent on ruining this game and the others they have acquired and/or developed by trying to bury their players in a hole they can never escape and that is disgusting. L
